A Letter to Women

This is a touching letter written by a woman to the other women at The Rose during her stay.

Marlene,  you are truly the whole package, beautiful, amazing cook, funny, caring, loyal, and loving.  I have always felt safe and protected with Marlene by my side. You have the ability to make me feel so comfortable and there is nothing in this world I could not share with you.  I admire your strength and look up to you so much.  Steven and your kids are the luckiest family in the world to have a wife and Mother as great as you.

Tina, you are the strongest and most courageous woman I know. The accomplishments you have made in your own life are something to be tyruly proud of.  Anytime I have felt down and glum, you were able to lift my spirits with your warm and beautiful smile.  You have been able to make me laugh more than I ever thought possible.  I am so happy you have had a spiritual awakening.  I can see it in your eyes that you really want this. I know your mother and father are looking down from heaven and smiling.

Regina you are such a sweet and wonderful person. You are really in tune with other peoples’ feelings and only want the best for them.  I love seeing you happy and excited because it truly warms my heart.  I admire your close relationship with God.  Not many people have such a solid connection with their faith.  You are such a strong woman – I don’t even think you give yourself enough credit.  I know once you channel your strength, you will be unstoppable.

Marcia between your sicknesses and one liners there has never been a dull moment. You are such a strong and funny woman. There have been times you have made me laugh so hard I thought I might pee myself.  I admire your intelligence and wisdom.  You are like a fountain of knowledge.  I’m so proud that you came back to work on things. In the end it will be so beneficial to your life and relationship with Kris.

Ruby you are so beautiful and kind. I truly believe that God brought you to The Rose for a reason. you and your beautiful baby girl are meant to be here.  The first night you were here, I read that story for you, and that is when I had a spiritual awakening and I felt that the house made a strong connection between us.  There are big plans in store for you and I can’t wait to see them unfold!

Kimberly and Trina, you both have been my guardian angels. I don’t know what I would have done without you. You both possess incredible talents. The way you have helped me and so many others is a gift. You have touched my heart and that is something I will carry with me forever.

My time here at The Rose has been a life changing experience and it is gratitude that I feel to each and every one of you.  I cannot even begin to put into words the impact all of you have had on my life. Who knew we could have this much fun sober?? I know that no matter where I am and no matter how sad I may feel, I can close my eyes, think of all the amazing times with you women, and smile. All my life I have wanted a sister. God answered my prayers and gave me all of you – the best sisters anyone could ask for. I love you.

– Grace
