General Barry McCaffrey is one of the foremost experts on drug policy in the United States. He served for 5 years as the nations Cabinet Officer in charge of U.S. Drug policy (during the Bill Clinton administration in the 1990′s). This position is more commonly known as the “White House Drug Czar” and he was confirmed for this office through unanimous vote by the U.S. Senate.
Barry McCaffrey is a pioneer on raising awareness of addiction’s causes and treatment. In 2004 he received the Department of Health and Human Service Lifetime Achievement Award for Extraordinary Achievements in the Field of Substance Abuse Prevention.
