Often times families approach addiction recovery through a rehabilitation residence like The Rose with the following frame of mind, “Here is my loved one. Fix her. See you in 90 days.” Unfortunately recovery is not a linear process. In the recovery field we often call recovery “the road to recovery” meaning that we savor the  journey, not the destination. The process of that journey is where recovery, healing and freedom from addiction is found. We invite families to be apart of that journey through Family Week. During Family Week, parents, siblings and children are given opportunities to not only learn about addictions, but they assist in the recovery process of their loved one and gain some healing themselves from this wreckage this addiction has caused their family. Addiction has often been noted as a “Family Disease” where everyone is affected and in need of recovery.
