Truly getting grace back in recovery has to do with performing estimable acts and learning to love and forgive yourself.
At The Rose treatment center for women we are dedicated to helping women re-connect with the parts of themselves that they love but might have lost touch with during their downward spiral into addictive behaviors.
First Things First – Stopping the Drug Abuse
It might seem obvious but halting the drug intake truly is the first step in recovering from a chemical dependency.
Many of the women who arrive at our treatment facility for women in Southern California are still “in the fog” of drug addiction and some are trying to ‘taper off’ or move from substitute one addictive substance to another.
The Rose offers a full medical detox (at our partner facility) so that women can get the substance out of their system and start the process of recovery.
Education and Change
During treatment, the woman will be in a constant cycle of therapeutic processes and activities. What will happen is that the woman will feel better as she regains some of her grace by participating in enjoyable outdoors activities.
Along the way, the woman will be working on underlying issues like trauma and family history that will help her understand and process the issues that have contributed to her substance abuse.
Finally, the education the woman will receive about the disease of addiction will remove a lot of the shame she has been experiencing through her “poor actions” which are more a symptom of the disease than a series of “bad choices.” Addiction is not about making bad choices. It is about the loss of the ability to make choices. Our staff of addictions professionals will help the woman regain her self esteem and learn how to manage life’s stresses with grace.
Long Term Recovery
The woman will begin planning for her post treatment continuing care from the first day she arrives at The Rose. Statistical data shows that the longer that care is continued during the treatment process, the more likely long term recovery is going to be achieved.
As the woman enters into the 12-Step support system which will carry her back into a normal and healthy lifestyle, she will truly feel good and truly be getting her ‘grace’ back in life.
