To the Families and Loved Ones of Women who Suffer from Addiction and Alcoholism

The Rose staff knows that addiction affects many more people than just the one who is abusing substances.
Our staff is intimately familiar with how the family of the woman who is drinking or abusing drugs can be torn apart. For every woman who abuses drugs or alcohol, many more are negatively affected, and the pain and suffering can be unbearable.
There are the mothers and fathers who suffer sleeplessly worrying about their precious daughter. There may be a boyfriend, husband, or significant other who experiences the hurtful and careless actions of a woman whose behavior is shaped by her chemical dependency. The children of women who are alcoholic or abusing drugs often exhibit mood disorders and suffer greatly because of the neglect that occurs in a home where drugs or alcohol are being abused.
The family members of the women who arrive here at our rehab facility know in their hearts that underneath the hurtful and irresponsible actions of the substance abusing woman is their child, wife, mother, sister, or colleague whose life is controlled by their drug of choice. The stress and hopelessness that come as a result of caring for a woman who is suffering from alcoholism or drug addiction can destroy lives.
Taking Care of Yourself Is the Top Priority
Believe it or not, one of the best things you can do for a loved one who is abusing drugs or alcohol is take care of yourself so that you can be present and effective in dealing with their behavior. The family and loved ones of the woman in need of treatment also experience stress and suffer greatly as a result of the addiction. Addiction is a disease and there are many factors that contribute to its development, but it is destructive for the family or loved ones of an addicted woman to blame themselves or feel guilt about the progression of the addiction.
It is important that a family member reaches out to us to begin the process of recovery for their loved one. Our team of professionals knows how to answer questions and make family members realize that there is hope for the woman who suffers from addiction. We provide a trained and caring ear and we also can recommend one of the thousands of free support groups that are available for the loved ones of women who suffer from chemical dependency.
Also, without reaching out to us and beginning their education on the disease of addiction, a family might unwittingly be exacerbating the addiction by enabling the woman who is in need of rehab treatment.
A Program of Recovery for the Entire Family
The treatment program at our drug rehab for women is designed to provide help for the entire family system. Depending on the treatment program that is designed for the woman who enters treatment, she may not have telephone access for the first few days. However, her case manager and treatment team will be in touch with the family immediately and often.
The clinical staff at The Rose will always be available to patiently answer questions you may have. With many years of experience building a strong nationwide network of mental health professionals, we are able to refer you to highly regarded therapists, doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, and addictionologists in your area should you seek further treatment or information.
After the woman's initial "no contact" period, the family is welcome to come to Southern California and attend group family counseling sessions at our treatment center. We feel that the family can be an integral part of the woman's long-term recovery program and we welcome the family into the woman's "wheel of treatment."
Structure & Guidance for the Loved One in Treatment
As soon as the woman arrives here in Newport Beach, she will be screened and assessed by our intake department, and an admissions counselor will begin the process of designing an individualized treatment program for her.
Every woman at The Rose has tasks that she must complete which help foster responsibility and accountability. We find that this builds fellowship and self-esteem.
Our clients will awake early and participate in a beach walk before taking a few minutes to participate in a private morning meditation. Throughout the day, the women will strengthen their program of recovery by participating in positive recovery oriented activities, including physical activities that break up the workshops, support groups, and therapy sessions.
No More Sleepless Nights
Women who come to our treatment center will quickly clear their mind of the drug that is controlling their lives and see that they must work on their recovery to begin a new life that is greater than they could have ever imagined.
While the woman is at our treatment center, the family can rest assured that she is in a safe and supervised location without access to drugs or alcohol. The family is welcome to come to the monthly "family program" to participate in their loved one's recovery program and be a part of the woman's new life free of drugs and alcohol.
